Getting a great lacrosse photo
Most youth lacrosse is played outdoors in good light, which makes it one of the easier sports to photograph. The best card shots are a dodge down the alley, a shot on cage, a faceoff clamp, or a goalie tracking a save — plus the always-reliable posed portrait in full gear with the stick.
Shoot from the sideline with the sun behind you so the player is lit, not silhouetted. Helmets can shadow faces, so frames where the player is looking upfield tend to show the face best.
Build the card
Upload the photo, crop to frame the player, and choose a lacrosse template. Add the name, number, position, team, and season or year — the details that make it read like a real card.
On the back, match stats to the position: goals and assists for attack, ground balls and caused turnovers for defense, faceoff percentage for FOGOs, saves and save percentage for goalies. A note about a tournament run or a first goal finishes it.
