What it looks like
Cracked Ice takes its name from the fractured, angular pattern of the holographic layer. Flat on a table the card reads as a normal glossy card; tilt it under light and the pattern refracts into shifting rainbow color across the surface, the look people associate with premium trading cards.
The layer sits over the print, so it does not hide the photo, the name, or the stats.
How to add it
Finish the card and it appears in your box. Each card in a Rookie or MEGA box has its own holographic toggle labelled Cracked Ice; switch it on and the box total updates. A Bulk Box has one toggle for the whole run, because every copy in a run is printed the same.
What it costs
Rookie Box: $2.99 per holographic card, capped at $14.99 for the box however many are switched on. MEGA Card: $14.99 per card. Bulk Box: $14.99 for 25, $22.99 for 50, or $29.99 for 100 copies. A team pack includes one Cracked Ice copy at $29.99, or all 26 copies for $39.99.
Cracked Ice versus foil
Foil is a metallic, mirror-like shine; holographic finishes refract light into color. Cracked Ice is the holographic kind. It is the finish the builder offers on standard, MEGA, and bulk cards.
