Football gift guide

Football Gifts

The player already has the gloves, the cleats and the visor. What they do not have is a real football card with their own name, number and position on it - printed on card stock, made from a photo you already took.

A football player photographed for a custom trading card

Who it is for

Youth, middle school, high school and college players, plus coaches, coordinators and the team parents who run the sideline.

What it costs

$17.99 for one card, $49.99 for the poster-sized MEGA

When to give it

The banquet, senior night, Christmas, and signing day. Football's gift season and its actual season land on top of each other, which is why December orders spike.

The football gift problem is a timing problem

Unlike most sports, football's season peaks in exactly the months people are shopping. That sounds convenient and is the opposite: everything the player could use has already been issued, fitted or bought, and the banquet, senior night and Christmas all land inside about six weeks of each other.

So the football gift aisle fills up with things that are about football rather than about the player - the helmet lamp, the wall decal, the shirt with a slogan on it. They are bought because the buyer has run out of ideas, and everyone involved can tell.

A card inverts that. It is specifically about this player, this season, this number, and it is the format the sport has trained everyone to treat as significant. A high schooler who would be embarrassed by a framed photo will keep a card of themselves on a shelf without a second thought.

It also solves the group-gift problem football creates. Rosters are big, banquets happen, and coaches get thanked by committee. A box of cards - one per player, or one design many times over - is easy to organise, costs less per card than singles, and does not require anyone to agree on a gift card amount.

When people give one

The banquet

End-of-season awards night. A card per player is the handout version; the poster-sized MEGA is what gets given to the seniors and the coaching staff.

Senior night

The last home game. Parents want a physical object out of it, and a card or a MEGA poster card is what ends up on the table beside the flowers.

Christmas

Peak football and peak shopping, at once. The card is the thing in the pile that is about the player rather than about the sport.

Signing day

A card made in the new school's colours, given the week it becomes official. Small, and it does not compete with the hat.

Coach thank-you

A card of the coach, or one card from every player on the roster. Easier to organise than a collection and considerably more personal.

Youth league

For players too young for statistics, a card with the team name and the year. This is the age group where a card of themselves is genuinely thrilling.

What to expect on delivery

Gift buyers are buying a date as much as a thing. Here is exactly what happens after you order, with no estimate we cannot stand behind.

Production

Cards go into production the same day you order and ship on the next business day.

Expedited

Priority and Overnight orders placed before the same-day cut-off on a business day ship that same day. The exact cut-off time is shown at checkout.

In transit

Delivery time on top of that depends on the carrier and the destination, and you see the carrier estimate before you pay.

Shipping cost

Free US standard shipping on orders $30+ — $5.00 flat under that. A Rookie Box of 5 cards is $31.99, which clears the bar on its own.

Pick a price, not a product

Every option below is the same card design; what changes is how it is presented and how many you get. Free US standard shipping on orders $30+ — $5.00 flat under that.

$17.99

One card

A single custom card in a magnetic display case. The stocking-stuffer size of this gift, and the one most people start with.

$31.99

A 5-card box

5 cards in one box, so the player keeps one and hands the rest to grandparents, coaches and teammates. This is the first tier that clears the free US shipping bar on its own.

$39.99

The Slab

One card sealed in a graded-style slab with its own label. Reads as a trophy rather than a card, which is why it does well as a season-ending or senior-night gift.

$49.99

MEGA poster card

The same design blown up to 11 x 15.4 inches on card stock. It is a wall piece, and it is the version that gets an audible reaction when it is opened.

How you make one

1

Upload a photo

Any photo of the player from your phone works. We cut the background out automatically, so a busy sideline shot is fine.

2

Pick a template

Choose a card design, then set the name, number, position and stats. You are looking at the finished card the whole time, not a mock-up.

3

Order the print

Cards go into production the same day you order and ship on the next business day. Delivery time on top of that depends on the carrier and the destination, and you see the carrier estimate before you pay.

Questions gift buyers ask

What do you buy a football player who has all the gear?

Football gear is bought by the program or by the parent at the start of the season, so by December there is nothing left to buy that the player does not have. A custom football card is the one gift that is about the player rather than the equipment, and it is the only one that still means something after they stop playing.

Does the photo have to be an action shot?

No. A posed photo in uniform works as well as an action shot, and often better, because the face is visible. We remove the background automatically, so a picture taken on the sideline or in the driveway is fine.

Can I put stats on a football card?

Yes - the back of the card takes whatever you want. Receptions, tackles, yards, sacks, or just the season and the team. For youth players most people skip statistics entirely and put the position and the year.

Do you do whole teams?

Yes, and football rosters are large enough that the per-card price matters. A box of cards costs considerably less per card than the same number bought singly, which is why team parents order the roster in one go rather than family by family.

Is this a good senior night gift?

It is one of the most common reasons people order. Senior night is the moment football families most want a physical object out of, and the poster-sized MEGA version is what tends to go on the table beside the flowers.

What does it cost?

One printed card in a magnetic display case is $17.99. The poster-sized MEGA version is $49.99. Free US standard shipping on orders $30+ — $5.00 flat under that.

Will it arrive before the banquet?

Cards go into production the same day you order and ship on the next business day. Delivery time on top of that depends on the carrier and the destination, and you see the carrier estimate before you pay. For a fixed date, order early or pick an expedited service at checkout.
